What is Yoga?

Yoga translates to union. As we break down yoga to its simplest form, it is a marriage with oneself. When one takes the time to truly get to know themselves, mentally, physically, spiritually and emotionally we find endless possibilities. Through the breathing, movements (postures) and meditation, you will find your way back to the highest version of themselves.

What is the most important part of this yoga practice? Is it for me?

The most important part of a yoga practice is the breath. If you can breathe, then you can practice yoga. Nostril breathing is the formula that your body responds to as a calming agent. It is that simple. This practice is about enabling the student to find their own voice.

I am recovering from an injury, what if I am unable to do certain movements?

Modifications are always available in any yoga class. Start by choosing a class that will meet you where you are currently. i.e. pregnant, recovering from an injury or limited mobility. And as a practitioner of yoga you are the best teacher of your own body, knowing and trusting that your body will tell you exactly what it needs.
